An Uncontrollable Urge Volume 1
Hey friends, I made a mix!
Since I’m going to be spending some time away from radio, I figured I’d drop some mixes out there instead. Here’s the first one, made up entirely of music previously featured on this blog, with the exception of a couple songs, which were pulled from records previously featured here. In keeping with the philosophy I’ve utilized in doing this...

An Uncontrollable Urge Playlist 4/27/10
Tonight’s program was — aside from any fill-ins I may or may not be doing in the coming month; check my Twitter — the last I’ll be having in a while. A bit hectic, training a noob and fielding a couple of (good) requests, but fun nonetheless. Thanks for stickin’ with me, and look out for some podcasts in this space in the future (in addition to the usual thangs).

WMUA Vinyl Sale Sunday!
Yes! WMUA’s Spring Vinyl Sale returns this Sunday, and it’s definitely going to be awesome. WMUA DJ’s will be spinning vinyl all day. My set starts at noon, and I’ll be doing only 7-inches (although I think one of them is actually an 8-inch…). It’s gonna fucking rock.

Galaxie Twelve/An Uncontrollable Urge Playlist...
This was EPIC. First two hours, in which I covered for Ken’s show, Galaxie Twelve, were made up of mainly world psychedelic funk and ROCK AND ROLL, and the next two hours, my normal program, were all over the place with strange noise. That Western Mass comp, X-Plural-Us, is fuckin’ gnarly. And I’m pretty happy I’ve found the Weasel Walter Septet.

Radio Double-Time!
And you thought two hours of me on the radio was special. You were right. So grab a diaper, unless you want to poop your nice, clean pants.
Since Ken’s out of town, I’ll be filling in for Galaxie 12 tonight, which runs from 8 right into my normal time slot, meaning I’ll be on the air for four straight hours tonight.
From 8 until 10 I’ll be playing all that loud, loud...

An Uncontrollable Urge Presents: TRASH ROCK
I recorded an hour of trash rock radio today for WMUA use, but since I’m not sure when it will air, I figured I’d give you all a shot at listening to it here. Twenty-five songs in fifty-nine minutes, and each and everyone one will kick your fuckin’ ass. Who’s making appearances? Well, there’s loads on here, but key players are The Mummies, the Gories, Billy...
