Mephista at the Stone
I’m still not sure I would describe it as demonic, but Mephista (Slyvie Courvoisier on piano, Ikue Mori on electronics, and Susie Ibarra on percussion) did construct a vivid, narrative set Friday evening at the Stone.
I suppose it’s possible that I’ve got a fairly simplistic idea of what demonic music is.

Parts & Labor: New Song, New Website, New Dates...
Parts & Labor is definitely one of the best bands out there. So, here’s some good news: they’ve got a new record coming out, Constant Future, and the title track is available to preview at their newly redone (and still super-pretty) website. It’s driving, noisy, and beautiful, like you’d expect.
