Pissed Jeans - Sam Kinison Woman
Your Life is Worth Pissed Jeans 7” (Sub Pop)

Pissed Jeans prove that lazy people can accomplish great things. You don’t have to be a great publicist, you just have to be fucking great (uh … as long as you’ve got a huge record label backing you). They released a sweet video of a track from King of Jeans, just in time to forget that record and move on to a new one.

Here it is: Your Life is Worth Pissed Jeans, a 7-inch featuring two heavy sludge-bombs: the A-side, “Sam Kinison Woman,” and the slow-jam B-side, “The L Word,” about love, not lesbians (there’s always next time).

Any band that displays the kind of unified, mammoth power in their sound while also promoting a “who gives a fuck?” ethos is A#1 in my book.

Here are the things that kill me about this slab of vinyl:

  • The grinding, mechanical lead guitar tone on “The L Word.”
  • The fuzzy bass solo during the drop-out on “Sam Kinison Woman.”
  • The punchy, mid-frequency thug-drums, always.
  • And, of course, the sleepy growlin’ vocals, often displaying some kind of emotion that is almost disgust, but not quite…

Check it the fuck out.
