Everything about Shonen Knife Screams "Internet 1.0" Right Now →

I finally located WMUA’s review-copy of Shonen Knife’s new album so I could review it (sounds like Shonen Knife), and the album cover looks like it was made using the very first “make your own CD cover art!” program.

But I figured “well, maybe they just aren’t putting that much effort into a CD, since everyone’s focusing on digital release now.”  But then I went to their website, and I was struck with some 90’s-vintage style internet, and, you know, despite the fact that they’re obviously just now figuring out the internet, I think it’s awesome.  Everything about their new album, this website, it just all conveys a feel of the 90’s to me, and I love it.

Yeah, Shonen Knife is living in the past, but, you know, it’s a fun past.
