This record was a nice treat, especially after slogging through a ton of emails that have backed up in my inbox over the past few months, many of which sounded exactly the same. Lizard Kisses is a band from Brooklyn, NY (aren’t they all?), and (in particular contrast to a lot of what I’ve been hearing lately) they sound like they’re actually playing their instruments! Their EP Sleeping In is full of character and expressiveness.

When I think about how the Minutemen proved how regular people could do music that was still interesting and truthful, this is the kind of thing that makes me glad they did that. Keep it up, guys.
