One Over Zero (Porter Records)
Porter’s been sending us some pretty cool stuff lately over at WMUA, and Trayer’s new record One Over Zero (1/0… wait… oh no!) is right in my wheelhouse. The first cut, “Ladyfingers,” is the kind of thing I was hoping the music of the future would sound like back in 1993, when I spent all my time playing SEGA Genesis and the X-Men arcade game.
Electronic noises mashed together to create a lot of fun nerd music, most pretty accessible, some not as much. Speaking of SEGA, “WEHAV EENTE REDAH OLYPA TTERN” reminds me of Phantasy Star Online, so that’s also awesome.
Okay, I guess I’m just gonna go play that then.
One Over Zero drops February 14th on Porter Records.
